A Guarantee for Success Our holy Sages revealed, "Whoever recites Ashrei three times a day is guaranteed a share in Gan Eden." Why is the merit of Ashrei so powerful? Firstly, Ashrei is written acrostically, alluding to the Torah, which is comprised of the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Ashrei strengthens our faith by symbolizing that the Torah is the central purpose of creation. Secondly, included in Ashrei is the verse, "You open Your hand and satisfy the will of every living creature." In this light, Ashrei praises HaShem for providing sustenance for all of His creations with relative ease and minimal effort. Lesson: Let us be inspired when we recite Ashrei, to have trust that HaShem will sustain us. By doing so, we will feel confident to engage in Torah study and its observance. As a result, we will merit a share in the World to Come. Visualization: Envision the countless animals, birds, and fish of the world finding their daily sustenance. See a waterfall of HaShem's blessings flowing into your life and supplying all of your needs. Renew your dedication to Torah and Mitzvos -- and earn a share of eternal delights in Gan Eden (Based on Brachos 4b and the commentary of the P'nei Yehoshuah) In order to schedule a ten-minute consultation with Rabbi Zvi Miller, via skype or phone, send email request to salantorg@gmail.com |
