The Golden Shield of Faith After the plague of lice hit the Egytians, the magicians told Pharaoh, "This is the finger of Elokim!" Even though they recognized HaShem, they still refused to submit to HaShem's command to release Klal Yisrael. How is is possible to acknowledge HaShem, and at the same time rebel against His explicit orders? Pharaoh's distorted thinking was, "Yes, I know G-d exists. However, the lice was a natural disaster that HaShem ordained. It was not connected to Moshe's warning that HaShem would punish Egypt with the plagues, if we did not free Klal Yisrael from slavery." Lesson: We can grasp a great lesson from this incident. Whenever man is faced with a question to trust in HaShem, the negative impulse will always introduce doubt. Be ready to defend against the false arguments that deny HaShem, and stand in the light of clear, unshakeable trust in HaShem. Visualization: Envision that you are holding a golden shield. Whenever an arrow of doubt is fired towards you, see yourself defecting it with your golden shield. Envision your faith as a powerful light that grows brighter and brighter with each arrow that falls to the ground.
