The Invaluable Trait of Integrity
Yoseph personified the trait of integrity. Even though he had the power to punish his brothers for selling him into slavery, he did them no harm. Rather, he used his position to orchestrate reconcilement and peace. As soon as his brothers expressed their remorse, Yoseph graciously forgive them. Then he supplied them with shelter and provisions during the famine, and took care of them for the rest of their lives. People of integrity are invaluable members of society. They are honest and trustworthy in all their affairs. Moreover, they have a moral compass that sensitizes them to the concerns of others.
Lesson: Just as people of integrity show compassion to others, so too, HaShem has special compassion for people with integrity and always shows them grace.
Lesson: Be honest, helpful, and compassionate in all of your interactions with people. As a result you will find grace in the eyes of both HaShem and man. (Based on Tomer Devorah, of Rav Moshe Cordevaro, Chapter One)
